I’ve had to plan 2 services recently , the support I received from everyone at Albert Parr made the experience a lot easier. They went above and beyond what I was expecting, they provided excellent service with a personal touch. I felt I could ask them anything at anytime. Despite these challenging times and forever changing guidelines Albert Parr guided us through the process to be able to give my husband as dignified service as was possible. On the day of the funeral James was exceptional; he constantly talked us through what we needed to do and what the procedure was. Although the service was not what we would have wanted for John it was the best it could be. May gave us a fantastic service. From start to finish Mums funeral process was handled with care, dignity, respect and dedication to providing a very personal goodbye. We made the arrangements at the Beckenham office and at no time did we feel rushed and Dawn Parr gave us amazing advice as to what we needed to do regarding paperwork and where to go. Mum was collected from Essex and brought London and once with Parrs my Mum was looked after by James Swindlehurst with the same care and dedication. We had some quite specific requests and they were arranged swiftly and respectfully. Mums ashes were collected and a beautiful scatter tube was personally chosen for us by Dawn to match the rest of the theme. I cannot thank their complete service enough.

They were supportive yet not intrusive throughout. A very professional company. They found solutions to any problem that arose, and nothing was too much trouble. I can highly recomment Albert Parr and sons.

This was the first time any of us in our close family had been faced with the daunting task of planning a big funeral. This was while we were still in complete shock, exhausted, with family members calling from all over the world offering love and help- but also asking us when the date of the ceremony was so they could arrange their travel plans. Other Funeral Directors in the area told us they were “sorry for our loss”, but it is looking like a couple of months before you’ll get a “slot” in any of the places they were affiliated with. It felt like dealing with a business. However, from our first conversation with Sara at Albert Parr & Sons (who came highly recommended by a family member), things clicked into motion without us even knowing. It felt comforting to talk to someone with so much experience, but that communicates with the patience of a friend, and not a business. We had been left with no guidelines, but through talking to Sara we soon realised how much we already knew about what mum would’ve wanted. After that first call we not only felt a weight lifted off our chests because we’d found a true ally that we knew would be by our side the whole way– but we also already had the perfect date set, in a place that worked 100% with our needs. This didn’t even feel rushed, Sara just got to know us, the family, and the loved one we had lost and suggested ideal places that would suit our needs. This attentive, personalised and efficient service continued in the lead up to the funeral and beyond. Albert Parr & Sons never wavered from their goal of “doing what is best for mum”, and gave us advice and support that went beyond the usual logistical aspects. I can’t thank Sara and the team enough. We already look back on those extremely difficult weeks with some fondness and pride — as we really worked together to organise a beautiful day for mum. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Albert Parr & Sons is a family run business and it shows. I felt fully supported and helped when planning my mother’s funeral. Sarah was fantastic and did above and beyond to make sure my mother got the very special sent off that I wanted her to have. James was charming and guided the funeral wonderfully.The funeral was beautiful; horse & carriage, with a coffin painted with flowers and butterflies. I highly recommend Albert Parr & Sons.

Sarah at Albert Parr Penge branch was simply the best! She was very compassionate and understood what we wanted for Dad’s funeral. She was very hands on and had all the details to hand, showing us pictures/photos on her computer and really listened. The Albert Parr’s Chapel of Rest where Dad was visited by the family a few days before the funeral was calming and beautiful! She had everything organized to perfection: the flowers, the route from Penge to West Norwood Crematorium via Dad’s old work route, the order of service and music and discreetly receiving family members at the Chapel of Rest for viewings. The funeral itself was managed in a dignified manner by James and his team. After the funeral service James was very kind and patient with family members and respected their need to linger and grieve at the Crematorium before being driven to the wake by the Albert Parts limousine. All in all an excellent service from Albert Parr, Sarah and James and the team. We would definitely return to Albert Parr in future.

The funeral was on 31st May 2018. Albert Parr and Sons was the perfect choice. The owner Dawn, her son James and thier team, thank you so much for your excellent work. I lost my husband after a short illness against cancer. A healthy man who was never ill to 3 weeks after being diagnosed he was gone. She was compassionate, gave very good advice and more importantly she was keen to deliver what’s right for me and my daughter. The celebrant, Ms May Andrews whom we choose did an excellent work as well. The funeral was simple and warm and totally reflected what he would have wanted and gave us the time to say goodbye. Sarah was a real gem. She was kind and compassionate. Her assistance every step during this difficult time is highly appreciated and will always remain in our thoughts. She arranged my mum’s funeral from the very beginning which was excellent. She helped me with obtaining to get the Death Registered within two by phoning the Registrar’s Office in order for my sister from Canada not to miss the final good bye. She ordered the flowers, downloaded my mum’s favourite songs for the Cremation service and also was in constant contact with the Church and Crematorium and kept me posted all the way. I would highly recommend Albert Parr as they Caring, reliable and also affordable.

At this very difficult and emotional time, our family found Albert Parr and Sons provided a caring, professional and accommodating service.
